In September of 2011, we decided that we should give it a try, and the rest is history."How he proposed: "First, I want to say that it was a total surprise! We came home from church one Sunday morning and Rod fixed us both a cup of coffee and asked to go sit on the swing on the front porch. It was romantically drizzly and overcast outside. As we sat on the front porch talking about life, he simply got up and got on one knee right there in the rain, just the two of us, and asked me if I wanted to share life with him. I was in shock and asked if he was serious, to which he replied 'Yes! Will you marry me?' and displayed the ring. I said yes and sobbed uncontrollably, and from there we began planning."
