New Teaching Strategy :
Get Involved Once teachers are prepared and organized, they will be ready to focus on the most important part of the work: students. It can be intimidating for new teachers when it's time to put their education and plans into practice, but the following strategies can help.

Set expectations. On the first day of school, teachers should provide students with a short list of teaching rules (three to five) interactively. The Teaching Channel video for setting expectations in the classroom shows a teacher explaining his rules using visual aids, modeling, and class Q&A.
The teacher then invited the students to make their own contribution to the teaching rules. It is also very useful for students to create something tangible on the first day.
If students drop out of first grade after completing a short piece of writing (such as creating lists in the video), a problem-solving exercise, or a small art project, they're likely looking forward to the next session.

Build a community in the classroom. Simply standing at the door and casually greeting students as they enter can help a teacher create a positive classroom climate.
Studies show that learning the names of students as quickly as possible is key to making them feel like a valuable member of the class.
Teachers can try numerous techniques to quickly learn students' names. The first week of school should include activities that allow students to learn from each other as well. Get the parents involved with you.
Teachers need to share the expectations they have of their students with parents and find a way to report on areas that need improvement and areas where the child excels. Positive reports don't have to be just academics. A parent who hears that their child is very good at listening or sharing has reason to be proud. Ask for help.
New teachers should seek advice from other teachers and school administrators as needed. Kate Vlchek said it was also important for first-time teachers to support themselves: “Don't volunteer for anything until you feel comfortable in your lead role as a teacher. Once you know what you're doing in the classroom, you can help with choir, rest or exercise.
” New teachers should keep in mind that the first day of school is new for everyone. Staying flexible and having fun will help new teachers adapt and enjoy their daily lives as educators. Within a few years, teachers can look back on their first day of school as an exciting and rewarding time.
